At the
aggregation layer, UTEPO recommended deploying the industrial Ethernet switches (UTP7608GE-POE-IE) for
aggregating data to the core switch (UTP7624GS-L3) with the 10G fiber-optic network as the backbone.
And ring network topology is used to ensure the normal operation of the security monitoring and
surveillance network when one fiber cable fails.

At the
access layer, industrial-grade access switches (UTP7208E-POE-A1) are used to provide access ports to
collect video data or positioning information to the core ring network from video monitoring system,
personnel positioning system, etc. With PoE technology, the industrial switches could supply power to
the devices (IP camera, sensors, etc) directly installed in the underground places hard to get
powered.
