BACKGROUND

As a new clean energy technology, solar energy has the advantages of zero pollution, zero emissions, zero noise, and zero radiation without the limited by resource distribution or geographical location. And it has high energy quality and a short construction period. Overall, it is a prospective energy technology.

The photovoltaic power station is often unattended in a project in Spain. And it is necessary to deploy a video surveillance system within the PV power station for 24-hour monitoring to ensure the safety of solar power equipment. Due to the sunlight and high temperature on site, the monitoring equipment and switches need to be able to work in such outdoor environments and have strong anti-electromagnetic interference capabilities.

REQUIREMENT

Keep the 24-hour stable operation

The photovoltaic power station is often unattended, it is necessary to deploy a video surveillance system within the station for 24-hour monitoring to ensure the safety of solar power equipment.

Industrial & rugged design for harsh environment

Due to the sunlight and high temperature on site, the monitoring equipment and switches need to be able to work in harsh outdoor environments and have strong anti-electromagnetic interference capabilities.

Advanced network management features

The switches should provide advanced network management features like SNMP, CLI, Web-based GUI for enhanced visibility, control, and performance management.

UTEPO SOLUTION

● It deployed UTEPO industrial L2 managed switches (UTP7308GE-POE, UTP7304GE-POE) in the access layer to ensure stable operation in harsh environments. And the 16/24 Ports L2 managed PoE switches (UTP7516GE-POE-4GF, UTP7524GE-POE-4GF) were deployed in the aggregation layer to collect the data from the access layer and send them to the core layer. The products support fast ring technology and provide shorter self-healing time (within 20ms), more smooth video transfer, and less packet loss. When the main link is broken, the backup link begins to work. Meanwhile, UTEPO switches can be managed securely and easily via the WEB management system, CLI (telnet /console), and SNMP.
